My husband and I have been renovating our 140 yr home for 16 yes. I did my kitchen countertop with cupboard grade plywood. I sanded and stained the plywood then a sealer. I still have them 16 years later.

Truthfully, I never thought of this. My research (very little) has shown very expensive ways for countertops. We are re-building everything in the kitchen and I think this will be a great solution for the counter tops. Thanks for the information.

I have a birch plywood countertop in my master bath (satin poly, three coats) and it still looks good after more than a dozen years.

Oh Heck yeah I've been thinking of this for a while. My baths scheduled to be gutted next week and THen the Kitchen so this will be added to my book for the finnial job. I'm thinking maybe for a cabnet that doesn't get a lot of wear and tear. EJ
