No Machine Needed: Peaches and Cream Ice Cream Recipe

by on Jul 13, 2017

I’ve waited all year for peaches to come back in season, and now I’m soaking up every possible recipe with peaches. As the weather continues to heat up, why not combine my love with peaches with my love ice cream? This no-churn, no-machine peaches & cream ice cream is the perfect combination of the two flavors and is so easy to make with only four ingredients. Plus, it’s National Ice Cream month! What better way to celebrate?

For the longest time, I didn’t have an ice cream maker but still loved to make my own ice cream, so I learned this technique for making delicious homemade ice cream without any special tools (although I did use a food processor for this recipe). All you need is an electric mixer of some kind, and you can make completely unique ice cream flavors that will make you the most popular person on the block this summer.

There are different ways to incorporate peaches into ice cream, such as by pureeing, creating a sorbet or simply adding chunks. In order to keep the creamy vanilla flavor of the ice cream but still achieve that “peaches & cream” flavor, I decided to use a peach puree swirl as well as chunks of peach.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can condensed milk, chilled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 peaches (1 peeled, 1 cut into bite-sized pieces)

Step

In a large bowl, beat the cream on high speed for several minutes with a whisk attachment until peaks form. You may be able to do this by hand, but an electric mixer is highly recommended.

Step

Then mix in the condensed milk and vanilla extract until completely combined. Stir in the peach chunks by hand.

Step

In a food processor, puree the peeled peach until completely smooth. If desired, you can add a little lemon juice but this isn’t necessary.

Step

Spread about 1/3 of the of the ice cream mixture in a freezer-safe container with a lid. Spoon the peach puree over the cream, then add more ice cream and repeat. Lastly, swirl the mixture with a spoon or knife. Cover and freeze until solid, about 6 hours.

When you’re ready to enjoy it, scoop out the ice cream onto a cone or into a cup and enjoy on a hot summer day!
