Home Alone will forever be one of my favorite Christmas movies because it was an important piece of my childhood! Of course, we can’t forget the iconic line from the fictional movie Kevin watches in the sequel when the character says “Merry Christmas ya filthy animal” after shooting someone. If you’re looking for a quirky addition to your Christmas decor this year that will fulfill your 90s nostalgia, this colorful “Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal” bunting printable is for you! Cut out each flag and arrange them on string to decorate your walls, a bar cart, a door or a food table for a holiday party!

Pink and green Christmas bunting is hanging on a wall.

I designed these Christmas flags with a sweater-like pattern that resembled needle stitching. I often see cozy sweaters adorned with “Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal” this time of year, which  inspired me to use a similar pattern for the background of the bunting! Since I find red to be a harsher color for decorating, I swap it for pink in most of my Christmas decor, making it a little less traditional. Decorating with scissors a pair of plyers and sheets of writing

Materials:

Black scissors by monogrammed paper.

Step

Cut out each flag. You can use scissors, a paper cutter or a combination of the two to quickly cut out the flags.

Step

Using a single hole punch, cut a hole on each side of the top of the flag to use for threading the string. Arrange the flags in the correct order.

Step

Thread the string through one end (so that the majority of it is hidden on the backside) and then bring it up through the other. Repeat with each flag spaced evenly apart. You can see that I separated most of the words on their own string, but this may be dependent on the space you want to hang the bunting.

Then it’s ready to hang! Use tape, Command hooks, nails or thumbtacks to hang up the bunting in your desired space so that your guests can giggle when they see “Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal” adorned on your wall!
