Happy February to all! I still catch myself asking what the date is because I feel like January just happened in a blink of an eye – am I right? Which basically means Valentine’s day is going to be here in no time! And I’m super pumped about it this year because we are celebrating a very special evening with all my gal pals for a Boho Valentine’s night out! To me, this holiday is meant to really appreciate the ones you love. And guys, that includes all those amazing friends you have the opportunity to spend some special time with…and we all have them! So why not celebrate a night with some yummy food, uplifting conversation and creativity?!
This year a few of us spent an evening with a wonderful local gal, who taught us to macrame! Whether you have a lot or very little experience in something, it’s still a treat to support a local creative and have them share their wisdom and talent with you and your closest friends. Here are some tips for a guaranteed night of fun with friends:

Do a little research.
If Macrame isn’t your thing, no problem. There are all kinds of awesome classes you can attend like jewelry making, build-your-own terrarium, flower crown making, block printing, bouquet workshops, sign making or even a class on indigo dyeing through Shibori…I mean, the sky is the limit! So how do you find these kinds of classes? Maybe you’re planning on attending a craft market soon. Don’t forget to ask your favorite vendors if they teach special workshops in a studio or in home (and grab their business cards!). You can check local businesses on Facebook and Instagram – search or use hashtags like #yourcitycodeworkshops to see what pops up and whose hosting workshops near you! Craigslist and Kijiji are also great ways to search out what workshops are happening in your community. If all else fails, head to Pinterest and host your very own craft night in! You can easily buy all the supplies at Michaels or nearest craft store.

Food & Drinks.
Need I say more? Make your favorite treats and those specialty drinks for a more enjoyable evening. Since it was Superbowl weekend, there were some tasty eats like chili cheese dip and chips, goat cheese with jam on crackers and a lovely variety of cookies. But one of my all time favorites for parties is a classic charcuterie board and some wine. Also, let’s not forget Pinterest. There’s all kinds of amazing recipes, including your favorite cocktails! And if you’re on a new years health kick, it’s ok! Just call it a cheat night and get back on the band wagon starting Monday. You’ll survive – promise!

Invite & Enjoy.
Simply shoot your closest friends a text or create a fun event on Facebook and start inviting all those gals!! You can even send them free Evites to make it extra fancy using Paperless Post or Punchbowl. However you choose, these kinds of nights out are the best. You go home feeling refreshed, refueled and reminded of how blessed you are to have such great friends. What a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s this year!
