Christmas of the Quirky

by on Dec 21, 2010

Christmas might bring out the best in some people, but it can also bring out the quirky. And as a big fan of quirk, I bring you these seasonal acts of oddness.

The Christmas tree pictured above is located in a popular shopping district, The Rocks, in Sydney Australia. It’s made of 100 bicycles that were ‘borrowed’ from a junkyard, which will be returned after Christmas.

This next tree, located in the atrium of the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, has been dubbed the most expensive in the world. That’s because it’s trimmed in 181 diamonds, pearls, emeralds and sapphires. The total cost of the Christmas decorations? About 11 million bucks.

Meet Milocinek. He’s a 30 foot  tall snowman living near Trzebnica, Poland. It took a goup of builders over 6 days to make him.

Have you ever seen a transvestite Santa? Yeah, well, here’s one, complete with fishnets and garters. He’s located in Cambridge, Britain in the shop window of Ted Baker’s.

Oh, and did I mention he was animated? Yeah.
