Amy Sedaris: Crafting for the Poor and Pissing People Off

Amy Sedaris has been out promoting her new book, Simple Times: Crafting for Poor People, and one of her stops was on NPR’s Marketplace. The book, of course, is a parody of the DIY and crafting culture, however, her recent comments in the NPR interview are pissing people off…at least people who don’t appreciate satire. One inflammatory assertion: Ugly people are doing crafts; pretty people are having sex. If that tweaks you the wrong way, take a listen to Amy’s rusty nail wind chime. It’ll soothe your ire in no time!

Listen to the entire (very funny) interview here.  (If you missed her on Letterman last month, the entire segment is on YouTube.) You can pick up a copy of Simple Times: Crafting for Poor People at Amazon for about 15 bucks.
