Giant Doily Rug

by on Sep 14, 2010

This rug by Ladies and Gentlemen isn’t exactly like my grandmother’s crochet, although I’m guessing she would have been delighted by it. Made of cotton rope, the rug, available through the designers’ Etsy shop ($600), measures 3″ in diameter, but larger sizes are possible. Now for the ‘inspiration’ part of the post….as an experienced crocheter, I’m thinking this project is entirely diy-able. We know what kind of yarn to use (cotton rope) and as for the hook size, I’d use my hand(s). And as for the pattern, well, any old doily pattern would do. You might want to start your search for the perfect pattern here.
