Clip-On Balcony

by on Aug 10, 2010

Open balcony with potted plants and space for drying cloths.

This prefabricated, bolt on balcony is a means for apartment dwellers and office building hermits to get a bit of the outdoor experience. The team of New Zealand students who came up with the idea see the space as means togrow food, collect rainwater and manage waste. The project’s leader, Tim Gittos, is realistic about the concept. It’s a great idea, but will someone realize the commercial opportunity of the Plant Room and bring it to fruition? We shall see.

My friend Leigh had the same idea. Doubt it’ll work…
