The Domestic Transformer

by on May 6, 2010

Architect Gary Chang turned a 330 square foot apartment into a Domestic Transformer. In Hong Kong, where space is tighter than tight, Gary devised a sliding wall system to transform his family’s 330 square foot apartment into a user-friendly posh pad that transforms into 24 different living combinations. For example, the wall system makes beds, baths and even the entire kitchen disappear and reappear when needed. Gary even integrated a screening room into the space! It reminds me of Bruce Willis’s pod in The Fifth Element. Check out the ingenious design in this video.
