- Having the electronics store (such as Best Buy's Geek Squad) do the work, but for a significant price
- Reducing the amount of light
- Finding a THX optimizer on a DVD (such as the Incredibles or Toy Story...I also remember the anniversary edition of Eraserhead offering a light/dark contrast set up tool)
- Use a calibration software DVD (around $30)
