Show of hands...how many have a grody mouse pad? Okay, that’s just about all of us. Re-covering a coffee and ink stained mouse pad is really easy and cheap!
Here’s what you need:
An ugly mouse pad
A good, tacky craft glue (I used Aleene’s)
A scrap of fabric (I would suggest using a chenille as it is very forgiving and will hide your unfinished cut edge. Although, a short fun fur could work too.)
Here’s what you do:
Schmear a good amount of glue all over the mouse pad.
Place your bit of fabric over the top of the glue and press firmly down. (Here's a shot from the back.)
Wait a few minutes for the glue to set up.
Cut the excess fabric from around the mouse pad.
Put a bit of glue on your fingertip and rub it gently on the cut edge of your fabric. This will act as a Fray-Check. When you’re done rubbing on the glue, you’ll end up with these little bits (pictured below) sticking out. Just wait until the glue is dry and then trim them off with a scissors.
And when you’re done, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind, grody-free mouse pad.
