Make This: Stylish Geometric Gold Glitter Pillow to Accent any Space

by on Jan 17, 2017

I’m a pillow hoarder. If you find me scouring the pillow section, get me out of there! Nonetheless, I still manage to bring home new pillows and this time I updated a plain pillowcase from IKEA to create this fun DIY geometric gold glitter pillow with random triangle patterns.

Iron-on vinyl is an incredible craft supply to have on hand for a variety of projects, and you can find easy-to-use gold glitter vinyl by Cricut that you can use for this project without needing a Cricut machine. This is a super easy project to make in any pattern that will brighten up any space in your home.

Materials:

  • Iron-on gold glitter vinyl
  • Cotton pillow cover
  • Matching pillow form
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Pillowcase or dish towel

Step

Preheat the iron to a cotton setting with NO steam. Iron the pillowcase flat on a hard, flat surface, not a padded ironing board.

Use the scissors to cut the gold glitter vinyl into triangles (top liner and all).

Arrange the triangles in your desired pattern on the pillowcase with the plastic liner facing up.

Step

Lay a separate pillowcase or dish towel over the vinyl and press with the iron back and forth for 1-2 minutes. Remove the dish towel and check if you can peel back the liner without removing the vinyl. If the vinyl does not stick, replace the liner and continue ironing until all pieces stick firmly. Then peel the liner off all pieces.

Insert the pillow form and add to any space for a pop of color and sparkle!

The gold vinyl adds some color and texture to any space, and I especially love how it popped against these green pillow covers!
