Laura's living room was a "basic builder's beige" when she and her family first moved into her home. It is a lovely space and seemed to have nice natural lighting thanks to a couple of long windows that flank her fireplace, but that "builder beige" seemed to act like a sponge, sucking it up and spiting it out to who-knows-where. A light gray paint on the walls and a bit of board-and-batten painted white make all the difference, don't you think? As Laura confirms, the room is "so much more light, bright and calming now."
Even Laura's stenciled IKEA curtains look fresh in their "new" surroundings. To find that tutorial, and the tutorial for the board-and-batten installation, visit The Turquoise Home.
