Before and After: Chair and Ottoman Mini-Makeover

Our favorite living room chair has seen better days. It has long been our dog Charlie’s go-to spot, and it’s also the most popular spot for guests. So I decided it needed a facelift. Enter my new favorite product – Pretty Pegs. It’s really quite surprising how much better the whole chair looks after just one simple change.   

The new legs have a hint of a mid-century modern look to them, giving the chair a more polished feel. Quite an improvement if you ask me. Pretty Pegs work perfectly with IKEA furniture, and most other brands as well. They have brackets available that will make almost any piece compatible. 

It took a total of about 15 minutes to attach the brackets and new legs, and required only a drill with a Philips head bit (you could probably use a plain old screwdriver instead, if you don’t have a drill).

I love the tapered look with the lovely brass accents – and they have several other styles available as well. 

I also decided to give my old ottoman a quick makeover with the same style legs….

And I love the new look! They give the generic piece a bit of character where there certainly wasn’t any before. They contrast nicely with the darker faux leather finish, and the brass adds a bit of glam. Well worth the 20 minutes of time I invested!
