Virginia and her hubby Jesse decided to transform their 1970's basement family room into a bright, relaxing getaway. But they started out on a really unfortunate footing, which was on 'poop brown' tile. They plunked down $1000 on the stuff that wasn't returnable. So Jesse spent two weeks installing the it, while Virginia silently freaked out about the color. They were going from dreary hole in the ground to a DARK hole in the ground, which is evidenced by this picture of how the room looked before they started:
To make matter's worse, the poop tile had an impossible-to-remove haze. Finally, Jesse confessed his hatred of the tile too, so they decided to replace it. This time, they hired pros to take out Jesse's DIY job and to install the new tile. Here's what the floor looks like now:
