Artist Rosa Montesa recycles plastic bottles into beautiful objects. One in particular that caught my eye is this red flower. At a glance, you really can’t tell it’s made of a recycled plastic bottle. The trick to getting the plastic to take that organic petal shape is….wait for it….a flat iron of the hair variety. Clever, huh? She has a video posted showing the entire process, and even though it might help if you speak Spanish, it’s not necessary. Rosa provides English bullet points. Otherwise, everything is demonstrated. Check it out here (below) or at Rosa’s website, Reciclado Creativo.

She does leaves too!
