How To: Turn an IKEA Dining Chair Into a Fornasetti Work of Art

Even if you’re not a fan of Fornasetti, the technique Mark Montano uses to turn an inexpensive IKEA dining chair into a work of art is more than kinda brilliant. First, he shot the chair with Black Krylon, and then he adhered Fornasetti clip art (supplied) using E-6000 Spray Adhesive. Finally, he trimmed it, subtly, with metallic gold and finished with a coat or two of polycrylic. Yes, the chair is just basically decoupaged, but there’s nothing basic about the result. P.S. Fornasetti’s website is freaky-cool.
