How to Incorporate 50's Style into a Traditional Kitchen

Found a great article over on Laurie March's The House Counselor in which answers a reader's question "Is a Retro Kitchen a No-No?" Laurie's short answer is "no," but what grabbed my attention is her advice for adding 50's style to traditional kitchens in a way that calm the fears of those who just can't get past the "I will alienate future potential buyers if I go full-on 50's" worry. Her examples  include the kitchen above complete with classic white cabinetry, black countertops and sea foam green appliances and hardware, which is an easy swap for future changes in taste. If the green is a bit too much for you, check out the kitchen below outfitted with pale pink appliances, a bit of black and white tile, and a sweet farmer's sink. Again, simply swapping the appliances with stainless is an easy style change.
