Although this dining room was spacious, it didn't feel that way. All because of too much contrast, conspicuous window treatments and a brass chandelier that had worn out its welcome. All together, they created a room perfect for a make UNDER. The Decorologist, Kristie Barnett started with a light, updated wall color (versus the 'pinky-beige') above the chair rail and painted out the blue from the chair rail down with a crisp white. Simple panels replace the swinging swag, and the light fixture was spray painted with a more palatable oil-rubbed bronze. As Kristie points out, all the contrasting, showy stuff distracted from the room's architecture and 'lovely view'. Now all live in happiness and harmony. To read/see more, visit The Decorologist.
