How To: Make Gourmet Pixy Stix

Pixy Stix*. You know, those slim tubes of colored, fruity dust that turned your lips and tongue colors not seen in nature. I LOVED them. Seems that kids still do. Have you ever seen Toddlers and Tiaras? (Parents are using them as a gateway drug to Red Bull.) At least Lindsay's creations have real fruit in them. Plus, they're gourmet! Imagine mango, blueberry, strawberry vanilla and chocolate raspberry Stix. (Much tastier, I'm guessing, than our Kool-Aid substitute, which we'd eat straight if we were jonesing for a Pixy when there wasn't any around.) The basis for each recipe includes the following:

1/4 cup granulated sugar (of course)
1/4 cup freeze-dried fruit
1 teaspoon of citric acid

*Yup, that's how the original product was spelled.
