Growing up in my house, if a pancake turned out round, my mother would celebrate it by saying something like, “Look! This one’s perfect!” Usually they were just tasty amorphous blobs. Mom’s creations were crayon drawings compared to the pancakes Nathan Shields and Jim Belosic make for their children. As a former teacher, Nathan often serves up a math or biology lesson with his ‘cakes. How does he get those intricate details? With a turkey baster.
Now check out Jim Belosic’s pancake work. He’s doing sculpture.
To see more of Jim’s work, head on over to Jim’s Pancakes. If you’d like to try your hand at making pancake art, you might want to pick up a copy of Jim’s book, OMG Pancakes!, which you can snag at Amazon for about $8.
