Okay, before you think "What could I possibly do with a bunch of twig buttons?!", I have an answer (or five). Ahem. They are: embellish pillows! Embellish gifts and gift tags! Use them on these felt gadget cases! Use them for knitting projects! Turn them into cute magnets! See? There are SO many ways to use them. All jazzed up to make some twig buttons now? Here's how.
Katie Startzman (yes, the same Katie that brought those beautiful DIY leather journals), created these twig buttons from a birch branch she'd cut down over the summer. With the right tools, this process is quick and easy. Here's what you'll need:
- a branch (about 3/4" or 1" in diameter)
- flax seed or walnut oil
- table clamp
- hand saw
- hand drill (3/32" bit)
- carving knife
- sand paper
