DIY Stocking Holders

by on Dec 21, 2011

My friend Cami is trying to revamp her Christmas decorating this year to pay homage to Christmases past.  When it came time to switch up her stocking holders, nothing from the store was in her desired price range, nor did it have the aesthetic she was going for.  Solution?  A tree.   She says the conversation between her and her husband (the guy with the power tools) went something like this: “Honey, go get your saw, and that hunk of a tree, and get to work. I don’t want to hear another word.”  And this is what he came back with.

I know using tree stumps is a favorite around here, and these little ones on the shelf (which Cami’s husband also made) are another great use for them.  Cami’s complaint about a lot of the DIY stocking holders out there was that they weren’t strong enough to hold full stockings, so these tree stump stocking holders were made to do the job right.

You can find Cami’s simple Christmas ideas here on her blog, Tidbits.
