How To: Make Colorful Vintage Ornament Wreaths!

How To: Make Colorful Vintage Ornament Wreaths!

There's one thing that every estate sale has: boxes and boxes of old Christmas decorations and ornaments.  I've even been to a house where every room was decorated, floor to ceiling (we're talking hoarder territory, people), for a different holiday... but that's another story for another day.  When you DO happen upon one of these stashes, though, you can usually snag the whole lot for a few bucks.  And then... then you make on of THESE!

Suzy Spence makes and sells these incredible vintage ornament wreaths under the name Georgia Peachez.  While her designs are pretty affordable, she has kindly offered some tips for the enthusiastic DIYer.  Head on over to Retro Renovation for Suzy's advice and, of course, happy wreath making!

I think this is absolutely gorgeous! I love making wreaths myself. I also love to use items I find at yard sales, estate sales and the good will. You are very creative! Thanks

CoolJ - Oh no!  I shall shed a tear for smashed ornaments everywhere.  Better get yourself to an estate sale, STAT! ;)

i.love.these!! I wish i hadn't accidentally SMASHED the suitcase full of similar trinkets in the haunted basement of our old rented house!

Thanks Pam!  I usually just skim over the boxes and boxes of ornaments, but I might start collecting some of the more unique ones to do something fun like this!

You have nailed it -- or I should say, glue-gunned it -- Capree. Yes, there are gazillions of these vintage ornaments around -- this is a great way to reuse them. These wreaths are wildly popular !

Wow, that is hideous.
