Some inventive fellow named Tim Thaler came up with the design for a mechanized kitchen island. Want a space to prepare your food? Kitchen island comes up. Want more square footage on your floor? Kitchen island goes down. And how does he operate the switch? With the click of a button on his iPhone. Yes, apparently there's an app for that.
So Tim pretty much eats food off his floor? Yep, it looks that way.
When asked how he cleans the dirt, crud and bits of dropped food scraps, he replied, "It actually retracts into a rather large unfinished storage area (10'x20') in my basement. And that room is like a garage, it's always dirty :)"
Well, there you have it. The amazingly motorized and sometimes filthy kitchen island.
