Super Creative Bookends that are Not Your Typical Storybook Ending

Super Creative Bookends that are Not Your Typical Storybook Ending

This is my pathetic bookshelf. Yes, I still have college my textbooks.

I wish I could say my bookshelves were full of classic novels and first editions, but the best I can do is a 3rd Edition of Hypnobirthing and an entire row of fantasy books.  If that doesn't hurt my literary morale enough, the shelves are unorganized to boot.  What I need are some attractive bookends to make my book collection look a little more impressive and easy on the eyes.

Some Curbliers suggest you buy bookends in pairs, but The End from CB2
is too clever to pass up:

These literal bookends would do well next to my copy of Antigone; at least I can understand their meaning.

If I ever get my hands on some cement, this custom DIY bookend project from The Beat that My Heart Skipped would absolutely do the trick.

I'm inspired to start de-stashing and donating those old textbooks right now to make room for something like these.

Do your bookshelves sport interesting bookends?  How do you organize your bookshelves?

Easy peasy. Use cement blocks you either buy cheapie at lowes, etc or keep an eye out for them. Ask construction sites if they have any leftovers.
Stack boards, found or whatever places on top of the blocks set on end on each end of the bookcase. . Make them small or long or low or tall shelves.
Idea two:Check out supermarket trash dumpsters forwood crates. Stack them up for bookcases.

I love these, I think that "the end" is really cleaver, I'm thinking that I might be able to DIY some of these. As far as Bookcases go I I don't even have any right now I can't find any that I like, much less love, that I can afford...soooo, the books are stached here and there all over the house. SIGH! EJ
