Color advice

I just moved into a non-descript little apartment in a jewel of a small town. My new furniture was rescued mainly from Craigslist, but a lot of my stuff has been collected over years and some wise inheriting. I want to paint the backsplash and space above the kitchen cabinets and an accent wall above my couch.

Any advice? The kitchen/dining/living room are in an L, so my immediate thought was to repeat the sofa's color in the kitchen. Then again » READ MORE
