I live in Minneapolis with my husband Blake.  We're currently in a one bedroom apartment saving money for our first home.  I'm hoping to move to NE Minneapolis in a little 2 (or 3!) bedroom bungalow or arts/crafts house.  We are both artists/crafters so it will need to have a big space for all of our stuff.  Right now, it might be more accurate to say we sleep and eat in our craft studio because the entire apartment is paints, sewing, stamps, embroidery, and photos.   We spend much of our weekends watching DIY and home shows daydreaming of what we will make out of our first home when we get the chance.

No Coast Craft-o-Rama 2006

The final tally of people attending the craft sale this year was 8000!  I couldn't believe it.  I can't wait to hear more details.  The sale was a total of 10 hours.  The busiest times were from about 10am through lunch.  It was a great day! »MORE

Simple Living Room Update with New Pillow Covers

My favorite way to change up my living room decor is to add new pillow covers.  It can update the room surprisingly quickly.  Here's a pattern for the easiest pillow covers you can imagine.  You don't even need a sewing machine, you can do this with a little hand stitching and "stitch witchery".  Firstly, Ikea sells really cheap pillow forms and even has one (IRMA) that's 14"x 14" for 99 cents.  This is a great size for a sofa.  So I'll base this pattern on a 14x14 pillow.  So, find some kick-ass fabric that you think will be a good... »MORE
