Good, cheap recreations of things I can't afford

By vsgbeatrice

Since I've come to the realization that I'm just not going to be able to afford the actual vases I want to get from this store called Modern on Broadway in Denver, I found these mini vases at delight.com that aren't a bad way to settle.  The colors are actually pretty close to what I was look at and it's a really nice price.  Well, at least maybe they'll tide me over.

Feel free to let me know where I can find mid-century pieces...that are affordable!!!!

Cheap vases may leak, especially older, non-Italian ones, so don't store them atop your new Danish credenza.

Also good is Chiasso.com, esp sale items

Perhaps CB2.com (Crate & Barrel's offshoot)

Target's not doing too bad w/new modern decor items, either. G'luck!

Have you checked IKEA and West Elm? They have a lot of things that aren't that far off. I've gotten several good vases on sale from West Elm that are rather MCM-ish, and the small Farm vases from IKEA are kind of Jonathan Adler-ish. Certainly far better pricewise; good luck in your search!
