Last Friday, I posted this kitchen makeover and a commenter mentioned she'd love to see some non-white cabinet makeovers. Ask and you shall receive! Check out Cassie's new and improved kitchen.

New doors, added trim and an espresso paint job gave a new life to the existing cabinets and saved some cash in the process. With all the natural light, the kitchen still feels bright and airy!

I was also impressed with the way Cassie reconfigured the refrigerator wall. She ditched the wall oven for a range and turned a teeny sliver of counter space into a whole new workzone.

There are three juicy posts on Hi Sugarplum chock full of photos and details about the renovation. Read about the original kitchen reveal, the smaller details roundup and the paint color update.

What is the wall color? Thanks!

How did you add inside hinge doors to the cabinets? From what I understand it's pretty near impossible to add those type of doors to cabinets that had originally accommodated outside hinge cabinets. I am interested to know as I would like to do this myself.

scariest thing I ever did, but I painted my kitchen cabinets black too! Absolutely LOVE them now!!! with accents of red here & there, I love spending time in there!

@Anonymous, Cassie got new doors for the cabinets, but still kept the existing boxes.

These don't even look like the same cabinets. The brown cabinets have a raised panel. The black ones seem to be a flat panel.
It's nice to see dark cupboards! This looks gorgeous.

beautiful!  and the black looks so fresh and elegant!

Beautiful job!
