If green beer isn't your thing, then maybe green milkshakes are! Every March, McDonald's rolls out the elusive Shamrock Shake. They haven't always been available at every restaurant, so here's a DIY version that might even be better. Read on for the recipe...
The Naptime Chef is a big fan of the leprechaun-like dessert. She experimented with recipes until she struck just the right balance of thickness and sippability.
McDonald’s Shamrock Shake Copycat Recipe
3 cups good quality vanilla ice cream
1 3/4 cups 1% milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Green food coloring, if desired
Blend all ingredients in a blender until completely thick and smooth. Pour into glasses and serve! Makes 1 giant shake, or 2 generously sized shakes. (Personally, I love it when a milkshake comes with an extra milkshake on the side.)
