6 Summer Pillow Fabrics to Freshen Up Your Furniture

by on Jun 8, 2010

Most asked question: Where do you find your fabric?

Answer: Wherever I can find a deal on unusual, high end fabric yardage.

So, being the fabric addict that I am, I’ve done some summer pillow fabric shopping for you today. Here are my picks…Pillows are super easy to make and they will absolutely transform your furniture, and your entire room for that matter; if you choose wisely.  Don’t be tempted to go buy cheapy, boring pillows at a big box store, go the extra distance, and make yourself some knockout custom pillows with high end fabrics at dirt cheap prices.I’ve also learned that small, colorful patterns can make a sophisticated, understated style statement.

This isn’t to say Joann and Hancock don’t occasionally have some knockout fabrics floating under the radar on their remnant tables. Every now and then,  they have high end remnant pieces that go unnoticed by fabric shoppers. The only way you’ll recognize a bargain basement deal on high end fabrics is if you do a little research into high end fabric companies and their styles. For instance, Knoll and Maharam are top notch companies that sell modern designs, Kravet runs the gamut of style, and Scalamandre is very high end, usually traditional. Find what you like, see who makes it and then (always) be on the lookout for a deal.
