Last week I walked through Indianapolis’ St. Margaret’s Guild Decorator’s Show House. This year’s historic home was purchased by the late author, Booth Tarkington in 1923 and it was there where he wrote many of his novels.
However, I digress. The one non-historic question I walked away with was how I was going to get my hands on some of this magenta and chartreuse Donghia fabric that graced one bee-U-tee-full chair in the morning room. The laminated spec sheet listed this fabric as costing $450.00 a yard. Seriously? Does anyone know of a secret place where bolt ends of such jazzy fabrics are just lying around? I will even travel across a few state lines in the hopes of finding a 1-2 yard remnant of this stuff.
For your viewing pleasure; the fabric in all the colorways and a photo of the vast home of Hoosier author, Booth Tarkington.
