DIY Customized Painted Wood Art

by on Sep 15, 2011

Ever finish up a project only to have a ton of scraps left? You don’t want to waste them, but you don’t really want them tucked away in some dusty corner of your house either. Well, if wood scraps are what you’ve got, I have the solution.
A glue gun and many sticks painted in various different colors stacked above.
There’s a chance you might need to buy some wood, but most home stores have lots of scraps they’re willing to part with for a small fee if you don’t already have a stash at home ready and waiting.
Grab a few other supplies and start planning your color palette, use as few or as many hues as you’d like. Then get to arranging your newly painted pieces and in no time at all you’ll have a customized piece of modern art ready to hang on your wall. I love how versatile this project is – shape of wooden pieces used, colors painted, size of overall piece.

  1. I love this! What kind of paint did you use? Did you put a lacquer over the top?
