How To: Make a Found & Foraged Scandinavian Christmas Wreath on the Cheap

by on Nov 17, 2018

One of the things we love to do year after year during the holiday season is wreath-making! It’s a relaxing and fun way to get into the festive spirit the whole family can enjoy. This year, we leaned toward our usual Scandinavian-inspired look, but using found and foraged materials. Sometimes, there is so much beauty in our own backyards or neighborhoods, if we just take the time to explore!

Go for a nice walk and collect various materials that catch your eye. Nature provides all kinds of options, you can’t go wrong. We found cedar, spruce, cherry branches, and pinecones.

Begin sorting through your foraged finds. If you have large branches of greenery, cut sections off to make it easier to fasten and manipulate.  Beginning with your greenery as your base, cut your floral wire and start attaching your greenery sections to your wire frame until you have a complete circle.

Continue building your base until you have full coverage and the wire frame is no longer visible. You can interchange your greenery – mixing will create variation and contrast!
