Get 'em while they're young at Make it Ruby

By: Diy maven Nov 16, 2009

My heart leapt with joy this weekend when I heard about a new online magazine called Make it Ruby. The magazine/website features DIY projects and games that are targeted to the tween girl audience, a segment of the population that has been underrepresented, according to Make it Ruby's creators, in the online DIY tutorial world.

Each project on Make it Ruby has 3 steps and requires readily-available materials, most of which can be found around the house. The tutorials also promote three of our favorite 'R's': renew, reuse, repurpose.

The creators of Ruby are some heavy hitters and include Joie Gharrity, a former Disney-ABC Television Group exec, and John Frazier, art director and stylist for companies such as JC Penney, Land's End and the like. Their combined talents have produced a website that's pink, sparkly and full of fun tutorials that tweens are sure to love. Check it out and then introduce all the tweens you know to Ruby. We need to get 'em while they're young!
