These pillows, constructed of washed silk, make use of pin tucks to give them a luscious texture. The Long Thread says they’re a great sewing project for the beginner.
To make one, you’ll need:
- 16″ square pillow form or an old pillow that needs an update
- 1/2 yard fabric for the pillow’s front (the maker used silk that she washed in cold and air-dried for a crinkled look)
- 1/2 yard fabric for the pillow’s back (the maker used upholstery-weight fabric to give the pillow more stability)
- matching thread
