How to Make a Pin Tuck Pillow

by on Mar 26, 2009

These pillows, constructed of washed silk, make use of pin tucks to give them a luscious texture. The Long Thread says they’re a great sewing project for the beginner.

To make one, you’ll need:

  • 16″ square pillow form or an old pillow that needs an update
  • 1/2 yard fabric for the pillow’s front (the maker used silk that she washed in cold and air-dried for a crinkled look)
  • 1/2 yard fabric for the pillow’s back (the maker used upholstery-weight fabric to give the pillow more stability)
  • matching thread
