The ellips shelves; measured drawings included!

by on Jul 25, 2007

This is odd. A website, called ellips, sells these very cool convex shelves. That’s not the odd part. The odd part is that they include measured drawings of the shelves. Knowing the dimensions of the shelves before buying them is helpful for people willing to hand over the cash for the ready-to-assemble cubbies. (The ‘Big Jim 200’ costs 1,120 Euro, which is about 1,500 bucks.) But a measured drawing for DIYers everywhere?? Score!!

Some mathematical calculations are marked in the picture.

Pictured above is the Big Jim 175. ellips’s shelves are made of birch plywood, but I’m thinking our old friend MDF might work.

  1. Hi… May I ask if I can get the plan of Big Jim 175 in vector format? So I can print the plan out at work where we have big ass printer. Because I dont really know that much about math to draw or design one myself.
