DIY Massage

by on Jun 20, 2007

A person is showing his back side and holding his hip with his hand.

One drawback of being an avid do-it-yourself-er is muscle aches. The pain in your back and shoulders you’re left with might make you wonder if your work was worth your trouble. To help ease your discomfort, here’s a little trick from my sister the gym bunny.

What you need:

A clean tennis ball

A wall

A sore back and/or shoulders

What you do:

1. With a tennis ball in hand, find the nearest wall.

2. Stand with your back against the wall;

3. place the tennis ball between your back and wall,

4. and then, using your back, start rolling the ball.

Small circular movements feel heavenly and will ease those aching muscles. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with Mr. Dunlop.
