Before and After: Grody Tin Shelf Gets Pottery-Barn-Style Makeover

I found this makeover tucked in the much bigger makeover Suesan gave her 164-year-old federal-style brick home, which in and of itself is pretty amazing. She tackled everything in that makeover and documents it as well. BUT when I was perusing all her hard work, this grody, tin shelf really stuck out. Probably because I have about 8 of them in various collection areas, of our house (like in the downstairs laundry room & garage) in various stages of grodiness. And for as long as I’ve lived with them, I’ve never considered the potential hidden within them. Suesan did. She used some spray paint and salvaged wood taken from her family room and bathroom remodel to make over the shelf pictured above into something (overpriced) you’d see in a Pottery Barn catalog.
