Christy's husband had made over his kitchen when their house was 'his.' When she moved in, she wanted to make it over in her own image. (You know what I mean.) She made a wish list. New solid surface counters, new backsplash, farmhouse sink, and new flooring. Hubby balked. He was attached to his handiwork, and why, he wondered, would they need to replace perfectly good laminate counters? If this exchange rings a bell, you're probably attached to the budget-conscious sort. (I am.) So, Christy made the decision to keep her hubby happy and keep her kitchen makeover simple. She painted the cabinets, added a shelf above the sink, made some new window treatments, and added a cart that she found at a yard sale for $15 dollars. This is what her kitchen looks like after all her hard work:
