How To: Build a Midcentury Modern Side Table

By: Diy maven Jul 09, 2014

Oooo! Mandi from A Beautiful Mess just posted a tutorial showing us how to make this fabulous MCM side table. She considers this build only 'moderately difficult,' but with her instructions, I'm sure we'd have no problem  knocking one out. Yes, there are some tools involved. They include clamps, a straight edge, a pencil and large compass or homemade compass (a router and trammel would work too), drill, pocket hole jig (probably not entirely necessary--you could toe-screw--but pocket hole jigs are pretty cool), a jigsaw (but if you have a router and trammel, there'd be no need). For the list of supplies and the entire how-to, click here.

Really love this simple but classic design. This whole retro look is really popular at the moment and it's not beyond the reasonably competent woodworker to make.
