Emily rescued the laundry basket pictured above at the side of the road because she figured she could do something creative with it. It sat in her basement for 6 months, and then inspiration hit: it would make a great outdoor planter. First she patched up the crack with some packing tape. Then she set about applying burlap--both inside and out--with her trusty hot glue gun. She finished up with a length of rope and a cool knot. Check out the results of her clever work:
