Eye Candy: 5 Modern Porches

What do you think of when you hear the word 'porch?' Wicker? Boston ferns? Porch swings? All are perfectly appropriate for such an environment, but what if the porch-owner has a modern aesthetic? Those traditional porch staples might not be the first choice. For a modern take on porch/conservatory decor, check out these pictures.

I have to agree with you on that one, though year before last I used our screened in porch for storage over the winter of my furniture stash. We covered the screen in super heavy duty plastic.

We're lucky to have two porches, a deck and a patio. We need to close in the sleeping porch though because it's usually too hot up there. We're hoping to make it into a three season porch.

DM--Also...I'm always saddened when I see a front or back porch used as storage space.

DM--I agree 100%. There should be a law that all houses built from this moment onward have a porch. ;)

I love covered, screened in and three season porches. There's just nothing like them. Which makes me wonder why I've not painted my porch furniture yet so I can enjoy it once it decides to warm enough here anyway. Maybe I should try to get that accomplished before my next big sewing job comes my way mid to late May. Could be perfect timing.

I wish our sleeping porch was a large as the second picture above. I'd love to add books and that bed once we get it closed in. If it looked like that now I'd be out there napping. (yawn)
