How To: Make DIY Marbled Glassware

created at: 05/03/2012

Hellllloooo! This is one of the coolest ideas I've seen in a long time. In related news, it looks like I better plan a trip to the thrift store STAT (you know... for some glassware I can experiment on just in case something goes horribly wrong)!

As it goes, marbling the bottom of your drinking glasses is shockingly easy (chances of things going horribly wrong are pretty slim, turns out). All you need is an assortment of nail polish colors, a small tub of water, and a few toothpicks. Who knew?! Erica from Honestly WTF shares all the steps involved for creating your own colorific, marbled glassware right here.

Do you think this would work to marble a vase?

Jagriti on Jul 07, 2012:

Cool. Is it like a design community where people can share their ideas?

CapreeK on Jul 05, 2012:

Jagriti - Thank you! "DIY" stands for "Do It Yourself". :)

This is beautiful. Any your website is amazing. By the way what does DIY stand for?

Good thing you shared this do it yourself marbled glassware. I also want to make some of these for home use.

Whitney - Great ideas!

I'm thinking this could be done with porcelain paints, then baked so you could run through dishwasher. Also, if you used this technique with nail polish, you could use with votive holders or something that wouldn't be washed all the time.

Oh my gosh!! GORGEOUS!
