Big brown rooms: they happen to the best of us. But with a little elbow grease, creativity, and inspiration (see below!), you can banish those boring browns for good*!
Mandi Gubler, the DIY queen and awesomesauce blogger behind Vintage Revival, recently completed this "epic room makeover" for her friend and neighbor Hailee. I love the way she introduces color, pattern, and texture as a way to break up all the brown while still keeping some of the big pieces (like the couch, coffee table, and love seat).

The most impressive part of this whole transformation, though, is the amount of affordable DIY solutions she implemented. Non-functional arch / hole in the wall? No problem. Turn it into custom built-in shelving (which Mandi did for less than $30)! Garage sale dresser not up to snuff? Transform it into a mod media console with spray paint and, wait for it... PVC pipe (seriously!).

I could go on for days talking about all the fabulous DIY projects and great features of this living room makeover, but instead, I'll just tell you to get your bum over to Vintage Revival for loads of photos, tips, tricks, and inspiration!
*Or at least mix 'em up a bit!
