Last week we featured a fantastic Pier 1 Giveaway, and this week the good folks at Pier 1 were kind enough to invite us in to do a little shopping. We were so excited to visit the store and get inspired to do our holiday entertaining .
The store is full of treasures – floral pieces, candles galore, table runners, serving platters, pillows, lamps, and the list goes on. During our visit, we had our Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas centerpieces in mind, and we shopped for all three in just a few hours.
Below is a collection of the items we purchased to put together our Thanksgiving table (our Haunukkah and Christmas tables will be featured in the next few weeks). But first, here are some more shots of the finished product:
We anchored the sprays in clear glass vases filled with rice. The colors in these fall-inspired sprays were gold, brown, and green, and their simplicity is just what we were looking for in a centerpiece. We decided to echo the colors of the sprigs throughout the centerpiece to help unify the table.
Our dining room table is our favorite piece of furniture in the house. It was made by my dad over thirty years ago! We often end up covering this beautiful cherry wood table with a tablecloth, which is really a shame.
We thought the color and warmth of the table would work well with our place setting, so when we headed to the store, one of my goals was to check out their selection of placemats. We purchased a set of the Pinktuck Solid Placemats in honey. The color is gorgeous and it complemented the colors in the centerpiece oh-so-perfectly.
We chose the Chestnust Twill Stripe Napkin to go along with the honey-colored placemats. We came across an old Martha Stewart post that featured fruits adored with tags or ribbons as a placecard and decided to run with that idea.
We purchased some Bosc pears at our grocery store and adorned them with ribbons stamped with the names of our dinner guests. Had we not found the perfect pears in our grocery store, we would have gone with these Artificial Green Pears at Pier 1.
Our favorite centerpiece items are candles, and they happen to carry our favorite candle line – Root. We were thrilled to stock up on these tapers. We also grabbed a couple sets of Pier 1-brand votives (they come in sets of 50).

In addition to the table setting, we were able to find a few other decorative gems to place throughout the house. I love these Embossed Fleur de Lis Candle Holders that look lovely atop our windowsills.
My favorite purchase was these Etched Branch Glass Hurricanes. We placed these amber-colored, hand-painted hurricanes on an antique pedestal we keep in our entryway. They’re beautiful when lit with these candles.
