Kitchen Doodle Floor

By: Diy maven Sep 17, 2008

Artist Olle Hemmendorff didn’t like his light wood kitchen floors. He wanted a simple, inexpensive and reversible alternative to refinishing them, so he bought some rolls of shiny white vinyl Contact-like paper and went to work. After the vinyl was down, he decided to turn the floor back into wood. With the help of a Sharpie, that is. The effect is amazing and, yes, temporary, which was everything Olle was hoping for. Well, if you do decide to forego it, I'll definitely pick it up and run w/it. RR is my hero!  ~:0)

Thanks! Actually, I was just thinking about changing it due to this. Wouldn't want to seem like I'm taking sides. ;)

This is completely beside the topic, but I really like your avatar. In fact, wherever I go, I usually use the exact same one myself!

It is entirely my pleasure!

Oh, BTW, thanks for finding them and sharing them! ~:0)

This and the cabinet ideas are exactly the kind of creative things I look to do in my own place.  I just love these simple, inexpensive, and yet, so artistic solutions!
