I understand competely! The sad circumstance of affordable housing, like this house was before our remodel, was that it's often borderline habitable. In this case, hot wires were sticking out of the walls and there weren't any doors on the upstairs bedrooms and bath. The stair railing became un-attached in our hands. Although afordable to buy, they aren't affordable to make habitable, if you know what I mean.

one woman's "flourish" is another woman's "unnafordable gentrification", or "another house that we now can't afford." but i realize your intentions are good.

Actually, the house we "flipped" is just a few blocks away from where we live. That's why chose to buy and remodel it, as we love this community and want to see if flourish.
