I got this chair for free on the side of the road. The most labor intensive part of the makeover was scraping and sanding off the old finish, which had become beaded on the surface. Then i painted it and gave it 3 coats of clear lacquer.

I bought this chair at a thrift store for $2.50. I removed the old caning on the seat, which had torn. I cut along the groove where the caning had been attached with a jigsaw. I spraypainted the wooden pieces bright red. I upholstered the inside part of the seat and screwed it back together.

This is a picture of Martin the rooster's beloved chair collection.

He's the kind of guy who can't drive past a chair on the side of the road without taking it home and fixing it up; well, sometimes fixing it up, a lot of the time they just get added to the ever growing brokeny tree forest in the garage.

Miriam the hen finds this all very vexing.

Edition of 50. This is an archival print of a pen and ink drawing which has been digitally coloured. Each piece is then lovingly finished by hand with coloured pencil so each one is unique.

Printed on 260gsm acid free, 100% cotton rag art paper using archival pigment ink. Each one is signed, numbered and dated.

My new living room chairs. This is part of a set of his and her chairs. This is the papa chair. I don't know the exact date, but I think that they're either Edwardian or 1930s chairs. The arms are deeply carved and have cane sides. The upholstery is deep cut velvet and a bit dirty. I'd like to clean the fabric, but am not sure how to do it.

I'd like to clean the fabric, but am not sure how to do it.

The pillows are 2 large pashminas bought on the streets of NYC for about $5 each - couldn't find the right color in teh fabric stores so.... inserts are 2 regular bed pillows per green pillow - again bought on the streets of NYC - the black squares are leather from a piece i had bought at Mood Fabrics a while back but could never figure out what to do with...
